Household objects

These household objects can cause puncture wounds, choking, or internal organ damage to your cat. Make sure they aren’t left lying around.

If you think that your cat may have ingested or is injured by an object, call your veterinarian immediately or an emergency veterinary hospital.

  • Balls: specifically balls that are small or have a smooth outer coating
  • Batteries
  • Bread twist ties
  • Buttons
  • Coins
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Glass
  • Hair pins
  • Jewelry
  • Nylons
  • Paper clips
  • Plastic wrap
  • Socks
  • Rubber bands
  • Sharp objects: knives, razors, scissors, nail, needles, etc.
  • String, yarn, or dental floss
  • Towels
  • Wax

Caution: Some cat toys should not be left alone with your cat. For safety reasons, always put away long string like toys after play
