As the holiday season closes and the push for charity ends, I wonder how many donated to the ASPCA prompted by their ads and not to their own local SPCA or Humane Society who do not advertise. The ASPCA is not the parent or umbrella group to your local SPCA. So if you think that your donation will trickle down to help animals in your local shelter it doesn’t. So please donate to your local SPCA or Humane Society, they too need your help to save lives. Also if you’re thinking of adding to your family, please adopt from your local shelter, you’re saving two lives by adopting one and making room for another animal in need.
